How you can help MPGCC

Monterey Peninsula Gospel Community Choir (MPGCC) is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and relies on sponsors to provide education and service to the community. During our inaugural year (2008) choir members donated approximately half of the funds needed to provide 60 hours of choral training and two free concerts to the community. We were also able to bring an internationally famous Japan Voices of Praise as a guest choir to our debut concert. People like you provided the remaining funds through personal donations. MPGCC has not yet requested any corporate or government grants. In 2009 and 2010, in addition to our regular educational activities, we performed at the Monterey Blues Festival and in regional Gospel festivals, had our anniversary concert at the famous Golden State Theatre in Old Monterey, and gave a Christmas concert each year.

In 2014 we plan to offer
    • over 60 hours of free training in Gospel Music through our regular rehearsals
    • free concerts featuring local and guest artists
    • a series of events to commemorate National Gospel Heritage Month (September)
    • a workshop in honor of our director's birthday
    • free musical events for those unable to attend our concerts

You can make MPGCC's plans a reality by
    • sending your donation to MPGCC, P.O. Box 1161, Monterey CA 93942
    • donating books, recordings, and other materials related to Gospel Music for our developing educational program
    • donating your expertise and time to organize our concerts and workshops
    • spreading the word about MPGCC
